SAMHSA's Collaborative for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) - a national substance abuse prevention training and technical assistance (T/TA) system dedicated to strengthening prevention systems and the nation's behavioral health workforce.

National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD) -  NASADAD fosters and supports the development of effective alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and treatment programs throughout every State. 

Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) - The mission of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) is to promote, undertake, and evaluate activities, studies, and programs that improve individual and public health, welfare, and safety. 

NY Alcohol Policy Alliance (NYAPA) - NYAPA is a statewide coalition, composed of organizations and individuals in almost every county and borough in New York State, which works to reduce alcohol problems through evidence-based, public health alcohol policies.

The Guide to Community Preventive Services - A free resource to help you choose programs and policies to improve health and prevent disease in your community. Systematic reviews are used to answer these questions: (1) Which program and policy interventions have been proven effective? (2)  Are there effective interventions that are right for my community? and (3) What might effective interventions cost; what is the likely return on investment?

MADD NYS - The mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. MADD also supports drunk and drugged driving victims and survivors at no charge

College Drinking: Changing the Culture - Created by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) to be a resource for comprehensive research-based information on issues related to alcohol abuse and binge drinking among college students.

Society for Prevention Research  - An organization dedicated to advancing scientific investigation on the etiology and prevention of social, physical and mental health, and academic problems and on the translation of that information to promote health and well being. 

National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) - SAMHSA Launches Searchable Database of Evidence-Based Practices in Prevention and Treatment of Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders.

Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) - Youth at Risk Provides an overview of children and adolescent risks associated with drug and alcohol abuse and recommendations for a healthier New York.

American Council for Drug Education - The American Council for Drug Education seeks to diminish substance abuse and its impact by translating the most current scientific research into fact-based programs and materials available to all those seeking accurate, compelling information on drugs.

The Center for Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY) - The Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth at Georgetown University monitors the marketing practices of the alcohol industry to focus attention and action on industry practices that jeopardize the health and safety of America's youth.

The Center for Substance Abuse Research - (CESAR) at the University of Maryland.  Conducts policy-relevant research and evaluation studies, disseminates statistical and other information, assists in training students in substance abuse research methods and policy analysis, and provides technical assistance to agencies and organizations working in substance abuse related fields.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - Seeks to promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury and disability. The site includes links to the 12 Centers, as well as the Institutes and Offices within the CDC, such as the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, which provide extensive tobacco-related information.

Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) - The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) is the sole Federal organization with responsibility for improving accessibility and quality of substance abuse prevention services.  Helpful links include SAMHSA’S Prevention Platform, Workplace Resource Center, SAMHSA’S Model Programs, and Prevention Pathways which includes on-line courses and other prevention resources.

Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) - To build and strengthen the capacity of community coalitions to create safe, healthy and drug-free communities. The organization supports its members with technical assistance and training, public policy, media strategies and marketing programs, conferences and special events.

Family Guide to Keeping Youth Mentally Healthy and Drug Free - Public education Web site designed to communicate to parents and other caring adults about how they can help promote their child's mental health and reduce his or her risk for becoming involved with alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs.  Relates directly to what researchers and substance abuse prevention professionals term family-related "protective factors." 

Join Together - is a leader in bringing effective alcohol and drug prevention and treatment programs to communities nationwide. It publishes online daily news and research reports to a national leadership, operates widely used self-screening and brief intervention websites for alcohol and drug problems and advocates for evidence-based public policy.

National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI) - Resource for information about substance abuse prevention and addiction treatment. Both English- and Spanish-speaking information specialists are available who are skilled at recommending appropriate publications, posters, and videocassettes; conducting customized searches; providing grant and funding information; and referring people to appropriate organizations.

National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) - The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) is a part of the National Institutes of Health, a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NIAAA’s mission is to provide leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems.

National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) - The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is part of the National Institutes of Health, a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NIDA's mission is to lead the Nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction.

Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) - OJJDP, a component of the U.S. Department of Justice, supports states and communities in their efforts to develop and implement effective and coordinated prevention and intervention programs.

Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) - To establish policies, priorities and objectives for the nation's drug control program. Its goal is to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing and trafficking, drug-related crime and violence and drug-related health consequences.

The Partnership at Drugfree.org - is a drug abuse prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery resource, existing to help parents and caregivers effectively address alcohol and drug abuse with their teens and young adults.
