The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Teen Intervene program provides education, support and guidance for teens and their parents. Teen Intervene is designed as a comprehensive screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) model of care. Teenagers who have experienced mild to moderate problems associated with alcohol or drug use work one-to-one with a Prevention Services Coordinator to identify and, ultimately, change their choices and behaviors. If a student identifies as needing a higher level of treatment, referrals are made in coordination with treatment centers. Designed to be implemented in a school setting, we can provide up to 6 sessions of motivational interviewing based brief intervention with no cost to the student or family.
